On June 6, representatives of Corps 15 said that Economic - National Defense Team 710 (Corps 15) had decided to commend Major Luong Minh Vuong for his courageous action in rescuing victims.
Previously, on June 1, when moving through a branch of the canal belonging to Ia Mo irrigation dam (Ia Mo commune, Gia Lai province), Major Vuong and Captain Nguyen Van Nghia (from the same unit) discovered N.D. T. (born 2021, residing in Ia Mo commune) being swept away by the water in the middle of the canal, about to drown close to danger.
The area where the incident occurred has a water depth of more than 2m, steep canal banks and strong currents, posing many dangers.
Faced with the emergency situation, Major Vuong directly jumped into the irrigation canal, coordinating with Captain Nghia to bring T. ashore safely.
After that, the 2 people gave initial first aid and then took the victim to Ia Mo Commune Health Station for health check.
According to Corps 15, Economic - National Defense Team 710 has decided to commend and praise the spirit of responsibility, courage and timely action of Major Vuong in rescuing people.
