On June 2, Binh Kien Ward People's Committee (Dak Lak province) said that the unit had sent a report to the Provincial People's Committee about the situation of a series of sewer covers being stolen in the area, causing unsafety for people when participating in traffic.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Kien ward, through a field inspection throughout the area, functional forces discovered that about 100 manhole covers had been stolen.

Currently, the Ward People's Committee has organized remediation and completed the re-installation of missing manhole covers on many roads to ensure safety for people. At the same time, the locality has transferred relevant information to the Dak Lak Provincial Police to investigate and clarify the case.
Previously, on a road section about 500 m long in Binh Kien ward, nearly 20 manhole covers were stolen, forming "traps" deep from 1 - 2 m, posing a potential risk of traffic unsafety.
According to records, the situation of missing manhole covers in residential areas in Binh Kien ward has appeared before the time of merging administrative units. However, for a long time, many locations have not been repaired, causing people to worry every time they travel through the area.
On Tran Hao street, which is about 500 m long, nearly 20 manhole covers have been stolen. Each manhole has a diameter of about 50 - 60 cm and a depth of 1 - 2 m.
To warn of danger, people must temporarily use wood, branches, styrofoam boxes and other items to cover the locations where manhole covers are missing.
Not only Tran Hao street, but also some other roads in the coastal area of Binh Kien ward also experience a similar situation of missing manhole covers, posing a risk of accidents for traffic participants.
