On August 5, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak province said that the locality is preparing to enter the main durian harvest in 2025.
Currently, the whole province has about 39,544 hectares of durian (including 1,000 hectares in the old Phu Yen province). Of which, about 26,600 hectares are being harvested. The expected output is about 392,000 tons, an increase of 30,000 tons compared to last year's crop.
Durian prices in the province currently range from 65,000 - 85,000 VND/kg. Dak Lak currently has 269 growing area codes with a total area of 7,413 hectares.
Mr. Dinh Xuan Hai (residing in Krong Pac district) shared that his family has about 1ha of durian ready for harvest, the quality of this year's fruit is quite good, not inferior to the previous crop.
"However, with less than a month left until the main season, people are very worried that the rain and wind will affect productivity. Many traders have come to deposit to buy in the garden, so the family is trying to protect the garden to avoid the fruit falling".

Mr. Nguyen Minh Huan - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak province said that fresh durian of Vietnam has now been exported to 22 countries and territories. frozen durian is present in 23 countries.
The main consumption markets include China, Japan, the United States... In which, China is still the main export market.
There are currently about 251 durian purchasing and processing facilities in the province; 11 freezing facilities and 40 fresh fruit durian packaging facilities with approved export codes.
The authorities regularly organize periodic and surprise inspections of growing area codes, packaging facilities... to control quality, production processes and prevent the situation of counterfeiting durian labels in Dak Lak.
