Buying and selling activities are not vibrant
In some areas in Dak Lak, durian harvesting has begun. Of which, the main durian is Musangking and Ri6. However, the buying and selling situation is less vibrant because the quality of durian alone does not meet requirements compared to previous years.
To better understand the situation of durian purchases, we follow in the footsteps of trader Huynh Tan Thuan (Dak Lak). After many years in the profession, Mr. Thuan shared that this year the buying and selling is not as vibrant as previous years.

Previously, before the harvest season, traders often deposited a lot of money in the garden, but this year it is very little. The quality of durian is not good, the rice is quite flooded, said Mr. Thuan.
In the morning, Mr. Thuan visited two durian gardens, Dona and Musangking, but he could not close any of them.
The Dona garden has only half a month left to harvest. While prices have fluctuated erratically, Mr. Thuan could not close the price early.
Mr. Thuan waited until the durian had reached its old stage, checking the garden to see if the rice was shiitake-prone and if it had beautiful colors. Depending on the actual situation to buy, avoiding risks.
As for Musangking durian garden, although it is harvested, the rice is still waterlogged. The proportion of small fruits is quite large.
The garden owner wants a price of 22,000 VND/kg and sells the whole garden. While traders have not accepted the above price because there are many small stocks that are difficult to buy and sell.

Currently, Musangking durian is only sold retail and cannot be imported for large buyers because it cannot be exported.
A durian garden owner in Cu M'gar commune expressed his disappointment: "This year, Musang durian prices have dropped. Last year, the lowest price I sold was 40,000 VND/kg, now it is only half".
Durian is affected by heavy rain
Not only Musangking durian, but this year Ri6 also faces difficulties. Mr. To Ngoc Vu's family (Hoa Phu commune, Dak Lak) currently has 80 durian trees for harvest. He estimated the harvest for this year's crop to be about 10 tons.
In the first harvest, Mr. Vu sold 2.5 tons of Ri6 durian at prices ranging from 25,000 to 30,000 VND/kg.
Mr. Vu said that this year the weather is not favorable, with a lot of rain, which has directly affected the quality of durian.
The rice is not uniform and the quality is not good due to the high ratio of rice and water. Depending on the quality of durian, traders will offer different purchase prices.
According to Mr. Vu, compared to the same period last year, durian prices have now decreased by more than half. However, only those with beautiful shapes and meeting requirements are bought by traders, the rest are difficult to sell.

Mr. Le Anh Trung - Chairman of the Dak Lak Durian Association said that the price of Musangking and Ri6 durian has decreased due to the high water quality of rice this year.
Currently, the Chinese side has requested to tighten quality as well as control Cadimi and O gold remains. To make the harvest go smoothly, the Association recommends that people should not sell until harvest time, to avoid the risk of being forced to price or losing reputation.
Enterprises and cooperatives are required to commit to strictly implementing safety standards, packaging processes and having sufficient financial capacity to avoid deposit breakage, causing damage to farmers.
