Mom wishes you always good health, try to stand side by side with your teammates to complete the task, okay? Mom is very proud of you" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien choked up and said to her son through an online connection screen in the New Year's Eve program at the Coast Guard Command on the evening of February 16 (ie, the 29th of the Lunar New Year).
On the other end of the line, amidst the vast waves, her son - Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Tien Thanh (currently a radar operator on CSB ship 7011) quietly listened to his mother's words in the sacred moment of New Year's transition.
Ms. Lien confided that Senior Lieutenant Tien Thanh is the eldest son in a family of three children. Her son has been working on the ship for many years. About two months ago, his son called home to report that this year he was not on duty for Tet, the whole family was reunited. The mother began to plan to shop, hoping for a full Tet after many years of absence of her son. "I am also very happy because this year I can come home to celebrate Tet with my mother" - Ms. Lien recalled.
However, near Tet, Senior Lieutenant Thanh called home to report that he had a combat duty and could not return to celebrate Tet with his family. At that moment, Mrs. Lien seemed to be silent, because for 3 consecutive years, her son had celebrated Tet away from home.
Three years away from home, calls are only confined to the phone screen. Sometimes the train is far away, the signal is weak, the conversation is intermittent. But just seeing her daughter's face, hearing her daughter wish Tet, for Mrs. Lien, that is enough to warm her heart.
As a mother - like other mothers, I also want my children to return to reunite with their families for fun. But if everyone wants their children to stay at home, who will go to sea to be on duty?
Because of the task of the Fatherland, my son was assigned to be on duty to maintain the sea and islands, which is also a source of pride. Although I miss him very much, this is an honor for the family to have a son who is silently sacrificing for the country" - Ms. Lien confided.

Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Tien Thanh said that although he cannot celebrate Tet and reunite with his family, this is an honor and pride to serve the Fatherland and serve the people. "We always uphold the spirit, responsibility, and determination to perform the noble tasks assigned by the Party, State, and people; stand firm at the forefront of the waves, contributing to protecting the security of the Fatherland's sea and islands. A solid rear is a solid support to help us overcome all difficulties and successfully complete our tasks" - Senior Lieutenant Thanh shared.

At the online connection program, Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai - Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard said that the task of protecting sea and island sovereignty, fighting and preventing crimes against the law is a very important political task of the Vietnam Coast Guard.
We focus on doing a good job of preparing programs, plans, and guidance for squadrons and ships performing tasks; preparing carefully in terms of forces, means, equipment, fuel, and necessities to ensure that ships perform their duties best in long-term, offshore conditions at sea" - Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai said.
In addition, the Coast Guard Command also organizes plans to celebrate Tet and enjoy Spring in accordance with the characteristics of each ship during duty to ensure that officers and soldiers have a warm, joyful, safe and economical Tet, with high combat readiness.
In the process of celebrating Tet and welcoming Spring, it is also necessary to be constantly vigilant and highly combat-ready, not to let targets slip through, to best ensure the maintenance of sea and island sovereignty and effectively fight against types of crimes violating the law at sea" - Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai emphasized.
The Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard said that right before the Lunar New Year, the unit organized a working delegation to go to each ship on duty in the Southwest sea of the Fatherland to visit, encourage and wish Tet to officers and soldiers on duty on the ships. Thereby, to promptly encourage and motivate officers and soldiers to perform their duties, ensuring the best results in task implementation.
