On September 27, the Project Management Board of Area 6, Dong Nai province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Inter- port Road Construction Project (phase 1).
This is one of 8 projects and works that Dong Nai province has started construction and broken ground to celebrate the 1st Congress of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
The first phase of the Inter- port Road Construction Project has a total investment of more than VND 2,600 billion in Dai Phuoc Commune, Dong Nai Province.
According to the plan, the inter- port road is more than 15km long, the starting point of the route connects to the boundary road of Ong Keo Industrial Park and the end point of the route connects to the road to Viet Thuan Thanh port.
A representative of the Project Management Board of Region 6 said that in phase 1, the project will deploy the construction of a section of the route over 8.8km long, divided into 2 sections: Section 1 is 6.9km long, with a scale of 8 lanes; Section 2 is 1.9km long, with a scale of 4 lanes.
In addition to the road section, the project also invests in the construction of 5 bridges on the route.
According to the signed contract, the project has a construction period of 36 months, however, the consortium of contractors set a goal of shortening the construction period to 30 months, completing and putting the project into operation by the end of March 2028.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the project, Mr. Vo Tan Duc - Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee - said that when the inter- port project phase 1 is completed, it will play a role in connecting the road transport system of seaport areas, creating favorable conditions for investment and exploitation of the seaport system in Dai Phuoc commune, contributing to the formation of a civilized, modern, rich and unique riverside urban system, associated with the goal of green and smart development.
This is also a route that creates opportunities to take advantage of the development advantage from Long Thanh airport to prepare for operation in the near future. Thereby, promoting the formation of a chain of ports - logistics - industrial parks - urban areas along the river, contributing to the breakthrough of Dong Nai's economy, affirming its position in the key economic region of the South.
Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc requested the Project Management Board of Area 6 to direct contractors to mobilize maximum human resources, equipment, and organize construction to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality.
At the same time, promote the application of digital transformation in project management, supervision and acceptance.
