On the morning of December 19, Quang Tri province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Huong Phung 1 Wind Power Plant Project.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Tran Vu Khiem - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, representatives of departments, branches, local authorities and investors.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Le Van Bao emphasized that the groundbreaking ceremony of the project took place in an exciting atmosphere across the country, organizing the groundbreaking and inauguration of works and projects to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party and the celebration of the National Resistance Day on December 19, with profound political and social significance.
According to Mr. Le Van Bao, Quang Tri identifies energy development as one of the important pillars in the strategy of rapid, sustainable and comprehensive socio-economic development. With the advantage of large and stable wind potential, the locality has many favorable conditions to develop renewable energy projects, contributing to ensuring national energy security and implementing commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The leaders of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province pledged to continue to accompany businesses, direct departments, branches, sectors and local authorities to closely coordinate with investors, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, create a favorable and transparent investment environment for the project to be implemented on schedule, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency.
Quang Tri province also requested investors to focus resources, organize construction according to plan, strictly comply with legal regulations on investment, construction, land, environment, and pay attention to social security work, ensuring the harmony of interests between businesses, the State and local people.
Huong Phung 1 wind power plant invested by Power Generation Corporation 2 - JSC with a capacity of 30MW, including 6 turbines, each turbine has a capacity of 5MW; electricity output is estimated at about 88.55 million kWh per year. The project belongs to a level II project, group B, with a total investment of VND 1,129.410 billion; expected to be completed, energized and put into commercial operation in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The units participating in the project design and construction include: The consortium of Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 3 and VATEC Energy Consulting Company Limited conducted the survey and design; the consortium of SCI E&C Joint Stock Company and SCI Consulting Joint Stock Company constructed the wind turbine package; TOJI Group Joint Stock Company constructed the 110kV transformer station and the 110kV connecting line. Supervisory consulting work is undertaken by the joint venture of Power Generation Corporation 1, EVN International Joint Stock Company and VATEC Energy Consulting Company Limited.
