On the morning of October 3, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Vu Quoc Tam - Chairman of Ngoc Son Commune People's Committee informed that the Commune People's Committee had coordinated with the Ngoc Son - Ngo Luong Nature Reserve Management Board and Lac Son Forest Protection Department to verify.
Through on-site inspection and comparison of information from witnesses, Mr. Tam affirmed that there was not enough basis to determine that the individual was a tiger.
Previously, on the afternoon of October 1, a resident in Chieng hamlet breathed a small, yellow- furred animal, weighing about 15 - 20 kg, suspected to be a lost tiger from Ngoc Son - Ngo Luong Nature Reserve and reported it to the local authorities.
As soon as the news was received, the Commune Police and the hamlet security forces were mobilized to ensure the safety of people in the area and support the verification work.
Through the verification results, the authorities confirmed that the information about the tigers appearing in Ngoc Son commune had no origin and that people need to stay calm and not panic with the rumors.
