From April 23, the weather will turn cool, high mountainous areas will turn cold in some places, the lowest temperature is commonly 19-21 degrees C, high mountainous areas 16-18 degrees C.
Before welcoming rain, Son La still maintains localized hot weather. In areas such as Muong La, Song Ma, Sop Cop, the highest temperature is up to 37 degrees C; Yen Chau and Phu Yen 36 degrees C. Areas such as Quynh Nhai, To Hieu, Mai Son, Bac Yen, Thuan Chau commonly 33 degrees C; Moc Chau and Van Ho about 30 degrees C.

Dien Bien also has a similar weather pattern with changeable clouds, rain at night, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, locally moderate to heavy rain. The meteorological agency warns that thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind can cause trees to fall, houses to be damaged, and affect agricultural production and traffic.
Especially in Son La, localized heavy rain can also cause flash floods and landslides in streamside areas, hillsides, construction sites and flooding in low-lying areas.
