According to the current traffic organization plan, motorbikes are allowed to travel in both directions on Tang Bat Ho street, while cars are only allowed to travel in the direction from Tran Thanh Tong to Yecxanh. This traffic organization method is applied to take advantage of the narrow road cross-section but still ensure the travel needs of people in the central area.
According to the reality recorded by Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, there are many cases where motorbikes go in the correct direction according to regulations but are still "squeezed" aside by other vehicles due to the large number of vehicles going in the opposite direction.
People living along the street also said that misunderstandings about traffic organization on Tang Bat Ho street have led to arguments and even clashes between traffic participants many times.
Many car drivers think this is a one-way street, so when they see motorbikes going in the opposite direction, they think they are wrong. Once they stopped their cars in the middle of the road, cursed, even rushed down to fight, we had to run out to intervene" - a resident living on Tang Bat Ho street shared.
Another reason why traffic on Tang Bat Ho street becomes complicated is the situation of vehicles stopping and parking right after the no-parking sign, even parking in the opposite direction of the road. When the road surface is narrowed, many vehicles are forced to encroach on the opposite side of the road to avoid each other.
Will strengthen propaganda and handle violations
In fact, the "incomprehensible" traffic situation on Tang Bat Ho street has existed for many years. People said that these inadequacies have been reflected many times in the past, including opinions sent via the iHanoi application.
However, to date, the confusion when traveling on this street has not been thoroughly overcome.
On the morning of March 8, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong newspaper, Major Tran Ngoc Trung - Head of Road Traffic Police Team No. 4 (Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police) - said that in the past time, the unit has regularly coordinated with the Ward Police to patrol and handle violations, especially for violations of illegal parking on Tang Bat Ho street.
Previously, through people's feedback, this unit also conducted traffic organization inspections on the above street.
On this street, on normal days, the number of vehicles is not too crowded, only on days when the funeral home section is congested, vehicles flock in more. However, the more deserted the road, the more subjective traffic participants become, and it is easy to have collisions when violating violations such as lane encroachment.
We will strengthen patrols and strictly handle violations in the coming time. At the same time, we will continue to coordinate with functional units to survey and propose traffic organization accordingly," Major Tran Ngoc Trung said.
Faced with the current reality, functional forces recommend that traffic participants when traveling through Tang Bat Ho street should pay attention to the sign system, and comply with regulations on lanes and traffic directions.
