The Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control said that from the night of September 21 and early morning of September 22, cold air will affect the Northeast, then affect the Northwest and some places in the North Central region.
On September 22-23, the weather in the North and Thanh Hoa will turn cool, while some mountainous areas in the North will be cold. During this cold air mass, the lowest temperature in the North and Thanh Hoa will be between 20-23 degrees Celsius, while some mountainous areas will be below 19 degrees Celsius.
It is forecasted that from September 21 to 22, the North Central region will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain from 60 - 120mm, in some places over 180mm; the Northern midlands from 30 - 70mm, in some places over 100mm; the Northern Delta and Hoa Binh from 50 - 100mm, locally over 150mm.
On September 21, the midlands and deltas of the North, Southern Son La, Hoa Binh and the Central Central region will have rain from 10-30mm, some places over 60mm; the South Central region, Central Highlands and the South will have rain from 10-30mm, some places over 50mm.

Strong winds, high waves and thunderstorms forecast at sea
Also according to the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, on the day and night of September 21, from Khanh Hoa to Binh Thuan and the middle of the East Sea, there will be southwest winds of level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8, the sea area east of the North East Sea, the sea area north of the South East Sea (including the sea area of Truong Sa archipelago), Ca Mau to Kien Giang, and the Gulf of Thailand will have strong southwest winds of level 5 - 6, gusting to level 7 - 8.
On the night of September 21, the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, from Binh Thuan to Kien Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the North East Sea, the Middle East Sea and the South East Sea (including the sea areas of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos) will have showers and thunderstorms, with the possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 7 - 8.

Rain situation
From 7:00 p.m. on September 19 to 7:00 p.m. on September 20, the North Central region will have heavy to very heavy rain, with rainfall ranging from 100-200mm. Some stations will have heavier rain such as: Tan Ky (Nghe An) 302mm, Mon Son (Nghe An) 259mm, Huong Dien (Ha Tinh) 285mm, Huong Quang (Ha Tinh) 270mm, Trong Hoa (Quang Binh) 293mm, Lan Hoa (Quang Binh) 262mm.
Rain from 7pm on September 20 to 7am on September 21, the Central region had common rain of 20-60mm, some stations had larger rainfall such as: Tan Ky (Nghe An) 107mm; Binh Chuan (Nghe An) 105mm; Ho Cu Lay (Ha Tinh) 92mm; An Tay (Thua Thien Hue) 85mm.
Rain from 7pm on September 17 to 7am on September 21, the area from Quang Binh - Thua Thien Hue had heavy to very heavy rain from 300-500mm, Nghe An - Ha Tinh and Da Nang 200-400mm, some stations had larger total rainfall such as: Tan Ky (Nghe An) 566mm, Huong Quang (Ha Tinh) 518mm; Hoa Son (Quang Binh) 669mm; La To (Quang Tri) 495mm; Bach Ma (Thua Thien Hue) 716m; Center GD-DN (Da Nang) 468mm.
