On the afternoon of March 3, Vung Tau Ward People's Committee (HCMC) organized an inter-sectoral inspection team to work with a bread stall on Do Chieu street, suspected of causing food poisoning to many people in the area.
Previously, Vung Tau General Hospital (Tam Thang ward, Ho Chi Minh City) had received dozens of cases for treatment with signs of food poisoning. Through verification, 6 cases admitted to the hospital for treatment said that they had used bread bought at the facility on Do Chieu street, then symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting... appeared.
At the time of inspection at the facility on Do Chieu street, the seller said that this was just a trading location, and the processing point was located on Trieu Viet Vuong street.
When conducting an inspection of the establishment on Trieu Viet Vuong street, initially representatives of the establishment presented all relevant documents according to regulations. At the same time, they said that the food of yesterday (March 2nd) had been sold out, and only food samples were being kept.
Through this, the inspection team performed rapid tests on borax, formol... with the stored foods, and the results were negative. At the same time, they requested the establishment to temporarily suspend business and take samples for testing according to regulations.
