Through initial epidemiological exploitation, all cases used bread at the same business before symptoms appeared. Patients are from many different professions, including cases of overseas Vietnamese returning home to visit relatives. Age ranges from 30 to 63 years old.
When admitted to the hospital, patients showed symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting, loose stools many times, some cases had a high fever up to 39 degrees Celsius, signs of dehydration from mild to moderate.
Examination and testing results recorded intestinal infection, electrolyte disorders, and some cases of hypokalemia causing muscle contractions. No cases of septic shock or severe complications have been recorded.
After initial treatment, 2 cases that responded well to treatment were discharged and instructed to monitor at home, 1 case of clinically unstable patients needed hospitalization for treatment and monitoring. The remaining cases are being treated at the department.
The hospital continues to monitor clinical developments, and at the same time, recommends that people choose foods with clear origins, ensuring hygienic storage and processing conditions. When symptoms such as high fever, frequent vomiting, prolonged diarrhea or signs of dehydration appear, they need to go to a medical facility for examination and timely treatment.
