On May 15, Phuc Son Group and consulting and construction units conducted a field inspection and peeled off the asphalt layer of the road in the area where the subsidence occurred at Ngoc Hoi intersection, Nha Trang City to determine the cause of the incident.
Recorded at the scene, the construction unit brought specialized equipment and motor vehicles, organized barriers, and stretched warning ropes to ensure traffic safety during the construction process at Ngoc Hoi intersection.

After completing the steps to ensure safety, the technical force proceeds to dissect the plastic surface and ultrasound to check the foundation structure. This is to find the exact cause of subsidence, thereby proposing appropriate solutions.
A representative of the Khanh Hoa Province Agricultural and Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the official cause has not yet been determined. After having the inspection results, the Management Board will report to the Provincial People's Committee for further handling.

For more than a month, people in Nha Trang City have continuously reported the phenomenon of subsidence on the overpass surface of Ngoc Hoi intersection. The location of the subsidence is at the roundabout intersection with the road branches, where the traffic volume is very high.
The subsidence is U-shaped, about 5m long, with some subsidence points 3 - 5cm deep from the road surface. This situation has raised concerns about the risk of traffic insecurity, especially in the context that the project has only been in operation for more than 19 months.
Ngoc Hoi intersection is a project with a total investment of more than 1,300 billion VND, started at the end of 2017. According to the plan, the project must be completed by the end of 2019, but it will not be officially put into operation until the end of 2022.
