Da Phuc Bridge is an important connecting route on National Highway 3, connecting Thuan Thanh Ward, Pho Yen City (Thai Nguyen) with Soc Son District (Hanoi).
The project belongs to the project to renovate weak bridges and connecting bridges on national highways (phase 1) invested by the Ministry of Transport, with a total capital of nearly 1,500 billion VND. Started in August 2022, the project aims to reduce traffic pressure on the old bridge.
On March 11, the reporter noted that after more than 2 years of construction, the bridge connecting Thai Nguyen - Hanoi has gradually taken shape.
The main girder, railing system, bridge deck and approach road on the Thai Nguyen side have been completed, and the asphalt layer has also been paved.
At the front of the bridge in Hanoi, the main items are also basically completed, the investor is rushing to construct the final items.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (Pho Yen City) said that in recent years, the number of vehicles has increased rapidly, especially heavy trucks and long-distance passenger cars. Everyone travels through the old Da Phuc bridge, making the space cramped.
Many times he and many motorcyclists had to move close to the railing, giving way to trucks. "one day, right on the bridge, I encountered a large convoy of trucks, I had to wait for the big trucks to pass before daring to continue" - Mr. Thanh said.
Therefore, when hearing that Da Phuc bridge was newly deployed and is now gradually being completed, the people in the area are very excited. The bridge is wider, the approach road is also more airy. Everyone hopes to soon be able to travel on the new bridge" - Mr. Thanh said.
Not only the people, many drivers also look forward to the day the new bridge is put into use to reduce the risk of congestion.
As a driver on the Thai Nguyen - Hanoi route, Mr. Tran Van Cuong shared that every time he passes Da Phuc bridge, he always slows down and observes carefully because of the traffic. Especially on rainy days, when the bridge surface is slippery, you need to be even more careful when moving.
This bridge is a vital route, and the traffic is dense. Truck drivers like us often have to "hold our breath" every time a motorbike passes by, just afraid that they will lose control.
On rainy days, drivers on smooth roads always drives with a hair, slow down, easily creating traffic jams. Therefore, I really hope the bridge will be completed and put into use soon" - Mr. Cuong shared.
Talking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Trong Dam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuan Thanh Ward (Pho Yen City) said that currently, the construction items on the Thai Nguyen side have been completed and people are looking forward to the project being put into use soon.
The new Da Phuc bridge is expected to be completed in March 2025. Putting the new bridge into operation will contribute to reducing traffic pressure on the old bridge, ensuring safety and promoting socio-economic development.
