According to the security camera, at around 11am on May 14, after stopping to drop off passengers near Thanh An bridge, Minh Long district, Mr. Ta Vinh Q (37 years old), a Mai Linh bus service staff, went to a nearby restaurant to drink water.
Suddenly, the bus rolled without a driver. Mr. Q rushed to use his hand and shoulder to stop the bus. However, the car continued to move, putting him to the roadside pillar, then stopped. After that, the driver came to open the door and backed the car to take Mr. Q out, but the victim died.
According to information from Mai Linh Quang Ngai Company Limited, Mr. Quang discovered the incident and tried to run there to prevent the bus from rushing forward to protect the company's assets and prevent accidents for road users.
Immediately after the accident, representatives of Mai Linh Quang Ngai Company Limited, the bus route operator, quickly arrived at the scene, coordinated with the authorities to handle the incident; organized visits, encouraged, and supported the victim's family in handling the funeral.
The authorities are urgently investigating and clarifying the specific cause, from the technical inspection of the vehicle, the handover of shifts and the responsibility of the parties involved.
