On August 13, according to Lao Dong's source, the People's Committee of Lang Son province has just agreed on the policy of reclaiming about 1,337.82 hectares of land of Lang Son Xanh Joint Stock Company in the old Dinh Lap district due to the ineffective implementation of the Forestry Investment and Development Project.
Accordingly, the recovered land area is included in the total land allocated and leased by the province to this enterprise according to Decision No. 2515/QD-UBND dated December 10, 2018.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment was assigned to complete the dossier and advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue a decision to reclaim it in August 2025, and continue reviewing the remaining area.
In case the investor cannot reach an agreement to handle assets on the land with the people, the Department will propose to adjust the decision to allocate and lease land according to regulations.
Lang Son Provincial Tax Department was assigned to inspect and determine the financial obligations that Lang Son Xanh Company must pay, collect and urge businesses to fulfill these obligations.
Chau Son Commune People's Committee will develop a plan to use the returned land area, include it in the commune-level land use planning and plan.
Lang Son Xanh Company must urgently carry out voluntary procedures to return land, fulfill financial obligations and compensate for crop assets to households using project land, no later than the first quarter of 2026. If the agreement cannot be reached after this deadline, the State will proceed to recover it according to regulations.
It is known that Lang Son Xanh Joint Stock Company, headquartered in Dong Kinh Ward, Lang Son City, was assigned to implement a forestry project in Dinh Lap since 2018, however, part of the area no longer meets the requirements for effective use, leading to this withdrawal decision.
On August 13, speaking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hung, Chairman of Chau Son Commune People's Committee, said that the commune is currently reviewing and counting the area that the Provincial People's Committee has decided to reclaim.
Also according to the leader of Chau Son commune, the entire area assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to the enterprise is located in the two new Chau Son communes and the new Thai Binh commune with the purpose of assigning to the medicinal plant planting project. The reclaimed area is currently located in Chau Son commune.
"After the recovery, the commune plans to hand it over to households to carry out farming," said Mr. Hung.
