In the Bac Lieu area (old), Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province, led a working delegation to inspect and survey the project to build a storm shelter and Cai Cung fishing port, along with a number of projects in Hiep Thanh ward, Bac Lieu ward and Vinh Trach ward.

The delegation surveyed the project to repair the dike roof, overcome landslides and upgrade 7km of urgent dykes in Bac Lieu city (old), which has been basically completed and will be put into use in 2025.
In particular, the Bac Lieu River embankment investment project, including four packages, is under construction at 20 - 37% of the volume, but there are still problems with site clearance.
The delegation also inspected the project to build a storm shelter area and Cai Cung fishing wharf. The project has a total investment of 250 billion VND, currently, the construction progress is about 35% of the volume, including the following items: Ship anchor, ship crane, canal crane 130, part of the embankment protecting the fishing port area and the operator house.

This project is expected to be completed in 2026. However, more than 30 cases in Dong Hai commune have not yet handed over the site, affecting the construction progress.
At the meeting, Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet requested the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Agricultural and Rural Development Works of Bac Lieu and related units to urgently speed up the progress.
In case the contractor does not meet the requirements, the contract will be resolutely terminated and replaced to complete the project as planned.
He also suggested that localities soon complete documents and procedures; increase propaganda and mobilize people to hand over land; have solutions to support affected households.
For cases where full measures have been applied but still do not comply, localities need to handle them according to regulations so as not to affect the overall progress of the project.
Previously, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan visited the Ca Mau General Hospital Project to launch a 45-day and night competition peak here. The Ca Mau General Hospital project has a scale of 1,200 beds with a total investment of more than 3.3 trillion VND. The construction progress of this project is slower than planned.

At the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Nguyen Minh Luan requested contractors to focus maximum on human resources, materials and equipment; organize continuous and scientific construction; work overtime, increase shifts according to weather conditions; and strictly comply with regulations on labor safety and construction quality. The teams need to clearly identify the projects and emulation work, commit to specific progress, and strive to exceed the set plan.
