Lao Cai invests 30 billion VND to develop Smart Operations Center

Lao Cai - The project to develop a Smart Monitoring and Operation Center aims to improve the province's leadership and operation capacity, and promote digital transformation.

On June 15, information from the People's Committee of Lao Cai province, the province has just issued Decision No. 2061 approving the investment policy of the Project "Developing a Smart Monitoring and Operation Center to serve direction and administration" with a total investment of 30 billion VND from the provincial budget, implemented in the period 2026 - 2028.

The project aims to build the Lao Cai Provincial Intelligent Monitoring and Operation Center (IOC) into an effective tool to support provincial leaders in directing, operating, monitoring and analyzing data in real time in many fields such as socio-economics, health, education, environment, transportation, security and order and public services.

According to the approved decision, the project will invest in supplementing the central display system, sound equipment and necessary technology items; and at the same time build a modern IOC platform, ensuring connection and integration with the province's common data warehouse, artificial intelligence (AI) platform, data integration and sharing platform (LGSP), specialized databases and software.

In addition, the project will build a set of socio-economic management indicators, supervision topics, governance dashboards, dynamic reporting systems and operating scenarios to serve provincial leaders.

Big Data and AI technology will be applied to analyze, forecast, and provide early warnings, supporting quick and accurate decision-making processes; and integrating spatial data on a digital map platform.

For departments, branches and People's Committees of communes and wards, the exploitation of data and operating tools will be carried out on the common IOC platform of the province through a suitable decentralization mechanism, maximizing existing information technology infrastructure, contributing to saving budget and improving investment efficiency.

The Department of Science and Technology is assigned to be the investor, organizing the implementation of the next steps in accordance with regulations, ensuring the progress, quality and efficiency of the project, contributing to improving management and administration capacity and promoting digital transformation in the province.
