According to forecasts, the Northern region may experience rain from 30-80mm, with some places over 200mm. Heavy rain leads to a high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in hilly areas, flooding in low-lying and urban areas, and dangerous weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee requests localities to closely monitor weather developments, review areas at risk of flash floods, landslides, and flooding to proactively evacuate people when necessary; arrange forces to guard at underground, spillways, temporary bridges and key points, to prevent people and vehicles from passing through dangerous areas.
Localities are also required to fully prepare forces, vehicles, supplies, and necessities according to the "4 on-site" motto; strengthen propaganda and recommend people not to cross deeply flooded areas, not to fish, and not to collect firewood on rivers and streams during rain and floods.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to closely monitor the flood situation, inspect disaster prevention and control and ensure the safety of irrigation reservoirs. The industry and trade, construction, health, and education sectors, along with military and police forces, proactively plan to ensure infrastructure safety, traffic, schools, rescue and health care for people.
Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee requests units to organize 24/24 hour duty shifts, maintain smooth communication, and be ready to respond to any natural disaster situations that may occur.
