On July 29, functional forces exhumed 7 sets of remains of martyrs in Tan Tien and Hung Thang villages, Gia Phu commune, Lao Cai province.
After completing the appraisal, the remains will be held a memorial service and buried at the martyrs' cemetery.
Previously, on the morning of July 28, the Lao Cai Provincial Military Command coordinated with Gia Phu commune to exhume and repatriate the remains of 7 martyrs whose identities have not been identified.
All remains were sampled for DNA testing, creating a basis for identifying identities before handover according to regulations.

This is an activity within the 500-day and night campaign to search for and repatriate martyrs' remains and the plan to search for, repatriate, and identify martyrs' remains in the province in 2026.
Major General Dang Quoc Dong - Commander of the Lao Cai Provincial Military Command emphasized that the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains has profound political and humanistic significance, reflecting the ethical principles of "When drinking water, remember the source", "Gratitude" of the nation, contributing to expressing gratitude to those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
