Accordingly, the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee requested relevant units to proactively prevent and minimize labor accidents, construction incidents and damage to people and property at construction sites.
The Department of Construction is assigned to strengthen guidance and inspection of compliance with regulations on construction quality management, labor safety and disaster prevention.
In particular, focus on inspecting works with high risk of unsafety such as hilly areas, high slopes, places at risk of landslides, flash floods, flooding or directly affected by natural disasters.

People's Committees of communes and wards are responsible for closely monitoring weather developments, promptly warning investors, project management boards and contractors to proactively develop response plans, ensuring safety for workers and construction sites.
For investors, project management boards and construction contractors, it is required to review the entire project being implemented, assess the risk of unsafety due to heavy rain, thunderstorms, storms, flooding, landslides or prolonged hot weather to develop appropriate response plans.
Units must strictly implement regulations on occupational safety and health, fire prevention and fighting, rescue, environmental protection and technical standards in construction.
At the same time, strengthen measures to prevent objects from falling, falling high, collapsing structures, electrical incidents, lightning strikes and risks arising from extreme weather.

Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee also requested contractors to regularly update weather forecast information to adjust construction progress accordingly; limit the arrangement of workers working outdoors during peak hot weather.
Construction sites must ensure adequate provision of drinking water, electrolyte supplements, rest areas and temporary safe accommodation for workers.
In addition, units need to fully equip personal protective equipment, arrange on-duty forces along with supplies and rescue equipment; prepare medicine and first aid equipment to promptly handle emergency situations occurring at the construction site.
