Before working hours, delegates attended the reporting ceremony and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, offered incense at the Bac Son Martyrs' Memorial; visited a photo exhibition with the theme "Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union firmly rising in the new era".
This Congress has the participation of 788 delegates, representing the will and aspirations of more than 21.6 million Vietnamese youth union members at home and abroad.
The 13th National Youth Union Congress is an important political event, a great festival of Vietnamese youth.
The Congress takes place in the context of the country entering a new stage of development with many opportunities and challenges, requiring the Youth Union organization to continue to innovate strongly to meet the requirements of the times.
The Congress carried the action slogan "Self-reliance - Pioneering creativity - Aspiration to contribute - Mastering the future".
In two working days (June 24 and 25), the Congress will summarize and evaluate the results of Youth Union work and youth and children's movements for the 2022 - 2026 term; identify goals, tasks, and solutions for the 2026 - 2031 term; discuss and decide to amend and supplement the Youth Union Charter and elect the 13th Central Committee of the Youth Union.
The Congress takes place in the context of the country entering a new stage of development, with very high requirements for innovation, digital transformation, science and technology development, international integration, green development, sustainable development and improving the quality of young human resources.
Therefore, this is an important time to establish the vision, aspirations, responsibilities and new methods of action of the Youth Union organization to concretize the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Thereby, maximizing the pioneering and creative role of youth in the new era of the nation, towards the milestone of 100 years of Party establishment and 100 years of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
At the 2nd working session, taking place on the afternoon of June 24, the Congress will elect the 13th Central Committee of the Youth Union and discuss at 5 forums.
Forum 1: Vietnamese youth are self-reliant, confident, self-reliant, self-strengthening, and national pride.
Forum 2: Vietnamese youth pioneers in developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
Forum 3: Vietnamese youth pioneering startups, developing the country's economy.
Forum 4: Vietnamese youth are ready for international integration.
Forum 5: Innovating the content and methods of operation of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in the new situation.
According to the program, the solemn session of the Congress will take place on the morning of June 25. The Congress will listen to directing speeches from Party and State leaders; announce the results of the first Conference of the Central Committee of the 13th Youth Union; launch the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and Secretariat of the 13th Central Committee of the Youth Union.
The closing session took place on the afternoon of June 25 with the contents of adoption of the Political Report, amended and supplemented Youth Union Charter, Congress Resolution and closing speech.
