On July 21, Bao Ha Commune Police announced about ensuring security and safety during the transportation and destruction of the M117 bomb left over from the war discovered in the area.
According to Bao Ha Commune Police, the transportation was carried out according to Plan No. 228 of Bao Ha Commune People's Committee on collecting, transporting and destroying M117 bombs left over from the war in Hong Bun village.
Expected transportation time is from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM on July 22.
The bomb will be transported from the location discovered in Hong Bun village, Bao Ha commune to the destruction area at Warehouse K10, Xuan Quang commune, Lao Cai province.
The transport route passes through routes and areas including: Hong Bun village - Provincial Road 161 - Hong Son village - Lien Ha 1 village - Lien Ha 2 village - intersection of National Highway 279 and Provincial Road 161 - continuing along Provincial Road 161 through Lien Ha 5, An Khanh, Lien Hai, Kim Quang, Tan Van and Bao An villages.
To ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles, Bao Ha Commune Police requested people to limit traffic on the transportation route during the above time frame.
At the same time, strictly comply with the guidance and regulation of functional forces, do not focus on monitoring, being curious or approaching the bomb transport area.
Bao Ha Commune Police also requested agencies, units, schools, businesses and people in the area to coordinate in implementing to ensure that the process of transporting and destroying bombs takes place safely and on schedule.
As Lao Dong newspaper reported, at about 9 am on July 8, during the construction of the Bao Ha - Hong Bun service road (Bao Ha commune), the construction unit discovered a bomb lying underground in the Hong Bun village area.
Immediately after the discovery, the construction unit stopped all operations and reported to the local authorities for handling.
