Instead of taking Tet holidays as usual, more and more young workers choose to work through Tet as a proactive option in terms of finance and life experience. For them, Tet is not just a holiday, but also a special working time, where young people both earn extra income, practice skills, and accumulate practical experiences in a crowded, stressful working environment and many arising situations.
Le Ngoc Ha Vy (Tran Phu ward, Hai Phong city) said that she has registered to work as an employee at a coffee shop from the 27th day of Tet (February 18, 2026) to the end of the 5th day of Tet (February 21, 2026). Each shift lasts 6-7 hours, almost full throughout the holiday. This is the first year Vy has chosen to work part-time throughout Tet.
According to Vy, the most difficult thing is not only fatigue but also the feeling of "No Tet" - when friends rest, family gathers, and I still go to work regularly every day. "But in return, I have better income, self-sufficient spending and no longer feel dependent on my family as before. More importantly, I learned how to work responsibly, maintain a professional attitude even when tired" - Vy shared.

Working in the service sector, Nguyen Minh Anh (20 years old, a waiter at a coffee shop in Le Thanh Nghi ward, Hai Phong city) registered to work from the 29th of Tet (February 19, 2026) to the end of the 4th of Tet (February 20, 2026). Minh Anh said that Tet days are the time when the shop is most crowded, the workload is high, and pressure and collisions easily arise.
Going to work during Tet is not just serving, but also maintaining a calm, gentle attitude, knowing how to handle situations with customers, with colleagues. Those skills, if only studying, are not available" - Minh Anh said. For Minh Anh, going to work throughout Tet helps her feel more confident, communicate better and form a disciplined working habit.
Choosing to work throughout Tet, for many young workers, is not a blind sacrifice, but a proactive decision: financial proactiveness, proactive experience, proactive maturity. And it is from those working days during that special occasion that they accumulate not only their salaries, but also life skills, bravery and very real everyday lessons.
