On February 12, Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1) announced its cooperation with Mastercard and Samsung to improve the travel experience and convenience for passengers when using Metro Line No. 1.
According to Ms. Van Thi Huu Tam, Deputy Director of HURC1, this cooperation aims to build a modern, smart public transport system, bringing a more convenient travel experience to the city's residents. Activities will focus on providing digital utilities right at the station and on the train, helping passengers access new technology and encouraging the use of public transport.

Accordingly, HURC1 will focus on upgrading digital utilities including promoting the Digital Citizen App, HCMC Metro HURC App and utilities at 14 stations. Support cashless payment methods such as card tapping, online ticket purchase via screens at stations, ticket counters...
In addition, HURC1 will also upgrade its facilities by installing 206 screens on 17 trains to provide information, news and entertainment; building a charging station system at stations; installing 46 screens to support passengers in looking up information and providing instructions on how to use the service.

“This cooperation demonstrates Metro Line 1’s efforts to modernize the public transport system, bring better experiences to passengers, and promote cashless payments and digital technology applications in the transport sector,” said Ms. Tam.
Metro Line 1 is attracting great attention from the public. During the 10 peak days of Tet (5 days before and 5 days after Tet), this line served more than 761,000 passengers, operated 1,768 trains, with total revenue reaching more than 11.7 billion VND, an average of 1.3 billion VND/day.
