On July 8, Buon Ma Thuot Ward Police (Dak Lak province) said they are strengthening inspections and handling the situation of encroachment on roads and sidewalks on Vo Nguyen Giap street (East - West Highway).
Over the past time, many sections on the road have seen people stopping and parking cars and motorbikes on the roadway or on sidewalks; placing billboards, tables, chairs, and business items encroaching on the walkway; gathering construction materials and goods not in accordance with regulations.
These acts not only affect urban aesthetics, obstruct traffic, but also pose a risk of unsafety and tarnish the local image.
Faced with the above situation, Buon Ma Thuot Ward Police have established working groups including Order Police, Area Police in coordination with urban order forces to organize inspections at points where violations frequently occur.
Through inspection, functional forces determined that the encroachment situation mainly originated from business activities and improper parking of vehicles.
Some establishments use sidewalks to arrange tables, chairs, roofs, and items for customers; many cases allow vehicles to spill onto the road, causing traffic obstruction, especially during peak hours, evenings and weekends.
For households and business households that voluntarily comply, functional forces guide them to rearrange operations in accordance with regulations, both ensuring business and maintaining urban order and aesthetics.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tran Tuan, Head of Buon Ma Thuot Ward Police, said that the restoration of order on roads and sidewalks will be maintained regularly, not only during peak periods, in order to raise people's awareness of law compliance.
The ward police will continue to coordinate with functional forces to strengthen patrols and inspections on the Vo Nguyen Giap route and other key roads.
Thereby, promptly detect and strictly handle violations, and prevent the recurrence of encroachment on roads and sidewalks after being reminded.
