On August 27, the Steering Committee for Searching, Gathering and Identifying Martyrs' Remains of An Giang province coordinated with Hon Dat commune to take samples and hand over samples of martyrs' remains for unidentified graves at Hon Dat Martyrs' Cemetery for DNA testing. This is an important activity in the work of gratitude and implementing policies for people with meritorious services to the revolution.
According to the plan, from August 27 to September 11, the Steering Committee for Searching, Gathering and Identifying Martyrs' Remains of An Giang province will take samples of the remains of 643 martyrs' graves that have not been identified at Hon Dat Martyrs' Cemetery.

In this phase, Team No. 02 and No. 04 of martyrs' remains sampling teams are assigned to organize the implementation of the task. Each collected biological sample is an additional opportunity to find the names and hometowns of the heroic martyrs who have sacrificed; it is a continuation of the journey to bring the martyrs back to their relatives and homeland. With that special meaning, in the process of performing the task, officers and soldiers of the sampling teams always uphold the spirit of responsibility, perform each task with caution and meticulousness. In particular, the digitization of martyrs' remains sampling information is emphasized, ensuring that image data is updated fully, continuously, accurately and in accordance with regulations, serving the effectiveness of management, storage and appraisal later.

The entire sampling process is carried out in accordance with procedures and techniques according to the regulations of the Ministry of National Defense, ensuring strictness, safety and accuracy, without any errors or sample confusion. Sampling and DNA testing of martyrs' remains is of great significance in identifying martyrs with unclear information, contributing to accelerating the progress of identifying heroic martyrs by DNA testing method. Thereby, expressing the deep gratitude of the Party, State and People to those who bravely sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland; and at the same time meeting the aspirations of martyrs' relatives and contributing to the effective implementation of the "Gratitude" policy.
