On September 9, the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of Thai Nguyen province coordinated with Bach Quang ward to take DNA samples for testing 12 martyrs' remains that have not been identified.
Before taking samples, Bach Quang Ward People's Committee surveyed, mapped and determined the coordinates of each grave; at the same time, the Ward People's Committee established a Coffin Information Digitalization Team to manage synchronous data.
After the incense offering ceremony, specialized forces coordinated to excavate, take DNA samples and hand over samples for testing according to the correct procedure.
After taking samples, the information of each grave and remains sample will be digitized, creating a database to serve comparison and identity verification in the near future.
Excavation and DNA sampling for martyrs' remains at cemeteries were completed on September 9.
Currently, in Bach Quang ward, there are 2 martyrs' cemeteries with a total of 132 graves. Among them, 12 graves have not been identified.
