Hanoi Department of Construction has just announced a traffic diversion plan at the gateways of the Capital during the National Day holiday on September 2nd, from August 29th to the end of September 2nd, in order to limit congestion and create convenience for people to travel.
According to the plan, vehicles from the center of Hanoi to southern provinces such as Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa can choose many directions, including the route from the city center to the Phap Van - Cau Gie intersection to enter the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway.
Vehicles can also follow the old National Highway 1 through Giai Phong - Ngoc Hoi, then enter the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway at Van Diem or Dai Xuyen intersection.
From National Highway 6, vehicles can go in the direction of Nguyen Trai - Tran Phu - Quang Trung to Ba La intersection, then follow Highway 21B - National Highway 38 to get to old National Highway 1 or enter the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway at Vuc Vong intersection.
Another option is from National Highway 6, turn into Phung Hung street, Southern trunk road, provincial road 427B to get to Thuong Tin station and into Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway. Vehicles can also travel National Highway 6 through Xuan Mai, Ho Chi Minh road and road 21B.
In the direction from the southern provinces to Hanoi, the Hanoi Department of Construction guides vehicles to reduce the load on the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway and Phap Van intersection with alternative routes.
At the Liem Tuyen intersection on the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, vehicles can take provincial road 494 - National Highway 21B - National Highway 6 to enter Hanoi.
At Vuc Vong intersection, vehicles can turn left along National Highway 38 - National Highway 21B - National Highway 6; or turn right along National Highway 38, through Yen Lenh bridge, National Highway 39A, provincial road 379 to the intersection with Ring Road 3 at Thanh Tri bridge.
At Van Diem intersection, vehicles can turn left along National Highway 1 - Provincial Road 429 - National Highway 21B - National Highway 6. At Thuong Tin intersection, vehicles go on Provincial Road 427, Southern trunk road and Phung Hung road to enter Ha Dong area.
For the Northeast direction, vehicles from Hanoi to Bac Ninh, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen and vice versa can choose Ring Road 3 - Thanh Tri bridge - Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway; or Nhat Tan bridge - Vo Nguyen Giap - National Highway 18.
In addition, vehicles can go to Chuong Duong bridge - Nguyen Van Cu - Ha Huy Tap - Ngo Gia Tu - Duong bridge to connect Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway.
For the North direction, vehicles going to Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang can choose Thang Long - Vo Van Kiet bridge - National Highway 2 to enter the Hanoi - Lao Cai expressway; or go to provincial road 23, Me Linh road and National Highway 2.
Other options include Thang Long bridge - Nam Hong overpass - road 23 - National Highway 2 - provincial road 310B; National Highway 3 - provincial road 296 to enter the Hanoi - Lao Cai expressway or National Highway 32 to Phu Tho.
For the Northwest direction, vehicles can go to Thang Long Avenue - Tan Linh - Yen Bai road - Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh expressway; National Highway 6 through Xuan Mai or National Highway 32 to Phu Tho.
For the East direction, vehicles going to Quang Ninh, Hai Phong can choose Co Linh road - Ring Road 3 intersection - Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway; provincial road 379 to Hung Yen, Hai Phong; old National Highway 5 through Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Duc Thuan to Hai Duong.
In addition, vehicles can go Thanh Tri bridge - Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway - National Highway 18.
Hanoi Department of Construction reminds vehicles to comply with regulations on the operation of road traffic vehicles in Hanoi and current traffic organization plans.
Notably, cars from Ngoc Hoi street (National Highway 1A) that need to connect to the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway can go from the Ngoc Hoi intersection to alley 15 Ngoc Hoi, then to the access road branch connecting to the expressway.
During the holiday, the Department of Construction requested road management units to review the system of traffic signs, direction signs, and no-parking signs; arrange on-duty forces to promptly handle infrastructure incidents and maintain road surface safety.
Hanoi City Police are requested to coordinate with the Traffic Police Department, the Department of Construction and related units to arrange forces to remotely divert traffic at gateways.
People's Committees of wards and communes are also required to arrange forces to coordinate with traffic police to guide vehicles and limit congestion on roads.
Hanoi Department of Construction said that the traffic diversion plan aims to reduce pressure on roads in and out of the Capital, especially National Highway 1, National Highway 5, National Highway 6, National Highway 32, Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway and Vo Nguyen Giap, Vo Van Kiet axes during the National Day holiday September 2nd.
