In recent days, images of horses - mascots of the Year of the Horse 2026 have appeared in many provinces and cities across the country, attracting the attention of a large number of people. In Hai Phong, after many years of absence of mascots, from the evening of February 9th, the statue of the golden horse and the trio of young horses officially appeared in the park opposite the Central Political and Administrative Center square on the North of Song Cam.
This morning, dozens of workers of Hai Phong Green Park Company proceeded to decorate flowers around the mascot, ready to welcome people and tourists to visit and check in from the afternoon of the 10th. 2. A worker of the Green Park Company said that from this morning, when workers were starting to decorate, many people were curious to check in with the mascot. Most of them expressed interest in the image of a majestic yellow horse and 3 adorable cartoon horses.
The golden horse mascot is about 3m tall, its eyes and posture are galloping forward bravely. The shaping details are relatively similar to real horses, making viewers excited. Underneath the horse's legs is a coin and gold shape, symbolizing the aspiration for a prosperous and fortuneful new year, and all things will be smooth sailing. Mr. Nguyen Huu Hai, a resident of An Bien ward, said that after many days of waiting, the horse mascot in Hai Phong has appeared. "The mascot is very beautiful, different from other provinces and cities, with a galloping, resilient posture, facing forward, like a city breaking through and rising up" - Mr. Hai said.
Behind the golden horse mascot is a set of 3 adorablely shaped horses. Each horse is placed on a podium about 1m high, surrounded by hundreds of fresh flower pots, diverse colors such as petunias, chrysanthemums, poinsettias... Checking in early with the mascot lineup, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue, Nam Trieu ward excitedly said that, unlike the brave golden horse statue, the little horses are very friendly and lovely with large eyes and colorful mane. With the appearance of the horses, Ms. Hue believes that in the coming days, the Park and Square of the City Political and Administrative Center will attract a large number of people and tourists, becoming the "hottest" check-in spot during this Binh Ngo Tet 2026.
Along with the display of mascots, the area of the Political and Administrative Center square is also urgently building a stage, preparing for the special art program "Hai Phong welcomes Binh Ngo Spring - 2026" taking place from 10 pm on February 16 to 0:30 am on February 17 (New Year's Eve). The event gathers many famous artists such as Minh Quan, Hoang Hai, Van Mai Huong, Erik, Ngoc Anh, Pham Anh Duy... and artists from professional theaters of the city and Hai Phong children. The program ends with a fireworks display to welcome the new year at 0 am, opening a Binh Ngo 2026 year with new belief, hope and spirit.
