According to the latest announcement from the Australian Embassy in Vietnam, the aid includes humanitarian assistance, emergency relief supplies and other essential services.
Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski, emphasized that the Government of this country will "help Vietnam in any way possible".
“We are pleased that we have been able to quickly mobilize support to the worst-hit areas and hope this will alleviate some of the immediate pressures on families and communities. We know there is a long way to go and we stand with Vietnam at this difficult time,” said Mr. Goledzinowski.
In addition, the Australian Ambassador to Vietnam sent his deepest condolences to the Government and people of Vietnam for the losses caused by natural disasters.
“We express our deepest sympathies to the families of those who have lost their loved ones or are missing. Australia appreciates the effective leadership of the Government of Vietnam in coordinating relief and emergency response activities in the affected areas. At the same time, we are ready to support Vietnam in the process of overcoming the consequences and rebuilding the affected areas,” Mr. Goledzinowski said.
According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the aid shipment from the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) was transported to Vietnam by Australian military aircraft. The aid shipment included 264 personal hygiene kits, 120 kitchen utensils, 600 blankets, 264 home repair kits, 600 sleeping mats, 522 tarpaulins and 360 mosquito nets.
In addition, other international aid shipments will be delivered to Noi Bai International Airport from September 13-14.
