The Thai Nguyen - Bac Giang - Vinh Phuc regional connecting road project started construction in mid-2022 with a total investment of VND3,800 billion. The project is invested by the Thai Nguyen Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board with a length of 42km. The starting point of the route is in Pho Yen city and ends at the intersection with Provincial Road 261 (Dai Tu district).

After nearly 3 years of construction, the road has been basically completed. Some sections of the route have been granted gravel and asphalt, vehicles can now travel. The items of key overpasses are being urgently deployed.
There are 3 key overpasses along the route, including the railway overpass and the National Highway 3 overpass and the Cong River overpass. All three overpasses are located in Pho Yen City, within a radius of about 4km.
According to the reporter, at the 3 overpass items, hundreds of workers and machinery were mobilized to implement the project. The overpasses have constructed the bridge piers and are installing girders.

The railway overpass has completed the installation of girders across the railway, and auxiliary items are under construction. The overpass section of National Highway 3 and the Cong River has installed girders on both sides of the bridgehead, constructing piers. Workers simultaneously carry out the items of installing girders, casting girders, and constructing pillar abutments.
Worker Nguyen Thanh Nam said that to cast a bridge girder weighing 70 to 80 tons, it takes 5-6 days. The workers divided into groups of 8 to 10 people to work. On peak days, there are 3 shifts, working all night to ensure progress. Hopefully the project will be completed soon to synchronize traffic infrastructure and increase regional connectivity.
According to the Thai Nguyen Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, after a long period of construction, the above 3 overpass items have reached 75.65% of the workload. Of which, the railway overpass reached 87.95%, the National Highway 3 overpass reached 75.72%, and the Song Cong overpass reached 66.61%. Currently, 8/8 small bridge locations, 27/28 underpass locations, 192/195 drainage locations, and 3/3 retaining wall locations have been constructed.
Currently, maximum human resources are being focused on to speed up the progress, ensuring the entire project is open to traffic before April 30.
