HUE - Many households in Thua Thien Hue had their roofs blown off by a tornado; one person suffered minor injuries.

On September 18, the People's Committee of Phu Ho commune (Phu Vang district, Thua Thien Hue) said that on the morning of the same day, 7 houses in the area were affected by a tornado.

Specifically, 1 household had its porch roof blown off, 3 households had their main house tiles blown off, 3 households had their outhouse fibro cement roofs blown off, and one person was slightly injured.

The leader of Phu Ho Commune People's Committee informed that after the incident, the unit directed members of the Commune's PCTT-TKCN Command Committee in charge of each residential area, along with forces coordinating with PCTT-TKCN teams in villages and affected families to promptly repair and overcome the situation today, before the impact of low pressure and storm No. 4.

Also on the morning of September 18, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Anh Dung (residing in Quang Binh province) said that he took a bus from Quang Binh to Da Nang. However, due to heavy rain, many roads in Da Nang were flooded, so when reaching the north of Hai Van tunnel (Phu Loc district), the bus company proactively turned around to ensure safety.

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of Thua Thien Hue province said that in the past 24 hours, the province has had moderate rain, scattered heavy rain with rainfall of 20 - 80mm.
