According to the reporter's records at the scene, from 9:30 a.m. on October 29, the authorities temporarily banned all vehicles and people from traveling through Tra Khuc 1 bridge (Nghia Lo ward, Quang Ngai province).
The water level of Tra Khuc River has reached alert level III, the water flows rapidly, posing a potential risk to the safety of people and vehicles when crossing the bridge.
When banning Tra Khuc 1 Bridge, vehicles participating in traffic will move through Thach Bich Bridge, Tra Khuc 2 Bridge or other safe routes according to the instructions of the authorities.
The authorities are mobilizing 100% of the force to control and ensure the safety of the people during the complicated flood.
Tra Khuc 1 Bridge was built 60 years ago, the route connecting the northern gateway to the center of Quang Ngai province. However, this bridge is now seriously degraded.
The bridge is 643 meters long, built with a reinforced beam structure, the width of the vehicle is only 7.5 meters. This bridge has served the traffic needs of the people for decades. However, over time, the bridge has seriously degraded, especially the broken concrete pile foundation system, exposing the iron core, posing a danger to traffic participants.
