From the night of August 25 to the morning of August 26, the circulation of storm No. 5 (Kajiki) caused heavy to very heavy rain in many localities in Phu Tho province.
The amount of rain measured at some stations was very high, mainly concentrated in the area south of Phu Tho (old Hoa Binh province), such as:

Other stations in the province recorded rainfall from 30-200mm.
Bua River flood exceeds alert level 2
According to information from the Steering Committee for Civil Defense - Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Phu Tho province, at 8:00 a.m. at Thanh Son Hydrological Station, the water level on the Bua River had risen to 24.72 m, 0.22 m above Alert II and is forecast to continue to rise.
In response to the above situation, the Steering Committee for Civil Defense - Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Phu Tho province issued a second alert on the Bua River for the communes of Vo Mieu, Thanh Son, Tho Van, Dong Luong, Van Xuan and Phu Tho Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited.
Request to deploy forces for materials and means according to the prescribed alert level. At the same time, organize patrols, guard, detect and take timely measures to handle incidents and damage to dykes, embankments and culverts. Operate sewers and pumping stations along the river according to the correct procedures, ensuring safety.

Along with that, notify people living outside the dike to proactively evacuate when the river water rises.
Many property damages
As of the morning of August 26, the whole province of Phu Tho recorded 1 injured person, Ms. Le Thi Dien (born in 1971 in Son Luong commune, Yen Lap district) due to a corrugated iron roof being blown away by a storm. The victim has been treated at Phu Tho General Hospital.
Regarding housing, 52 houses had their roofs blown off and damaged in Son Luong, Xuan Vien, Ha Hoa, Dao Xa, Tam Nong, Van Son, and Tu Vu communes. There are 181 households (647 people) that have to be urgently evacuated to ensure safety.
Many areas of rice, corn, crops, and fruit trees were broken and flooded. Chi Dam commune alone recorded 4 hectares of flooded rice, 1.5 hectares of broken corn; Dao Xa commune suffered 0.29 hectares of cassava, 0.47 hectares of corn and many perennial fruit trees.

Regarding infrastructure, in some localities such as Chi Dam and Dao Xa, landslides occurred, rocks and soil spilled onto the road, obstructing traffic; in Ha Hoa commune, 4 electric poles fell, 9 households suffered landslides with a volume of about 2,600m3.
Along with that, some schools and cultural houses had their roofs blown off and damaged; some households had their electrical equipment burned due to lightning and power outages.
The report of the Standing Office of the Command Committee for Civil Defense, Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Phu Tho province said that the total initial damage was estimated at about 1 billion VND. Statistics and remedial work will continue to be implemented in the coming days.

The Provincial Steering Committee for Civil Defense, Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue recommends that localities and people absolutely not be subjective, continue to closely monitor the development of floods and rains, proactively evacuate people from high-risk areas, and promptly overcome the damage to stabilize people's lives.
According to information from the Traffic Police Department of Phu Tho Province Police, on the routes in Mai Chau, Cao Son, Thanh Son, Xuan Vien communes... there is a risk of flooding and landslides, people absolutely do not pass when there are warnings of danger.
