On the afternoon of August 28, information from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said that Noi Bai International Airport, Tan Son Nhat (HKQT) is synchronously implementing exploitation plans, from optimizing infrastructure, strengthening human resources to applying technology, in order to bring passengers safe, smooth, and effective flights during the National Day holiday 2. 9.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority, it is estimated that Noi Bai International Airport will serve about 125,000 passengers, an increase of 8% compared to normal and 33% compared to the same period in 2025. Along with that, the expected take-off and landing volume will reach 743 flights, an increase of 10% compared to normal and an increase of 18% compared to the same period.
As for Tan Son Nhat International Airport, from August 28 - September 2, it is expected to operate an average of 780 flights/day, an increase of about 5% compared to the current flight schedule (740 flights/day) and an increase of about 12% compared to the peak period of September 2, 2025.
The two days expected to have the highest flight volume are August 28 and September 2, with about 800 flights/day.
Regarding passengers, the airport is expected to serve an average of about 130,000 passengers/day, an increase of about 4% compared to the current level and an increase of about 16% compared to the National Day peak in 2025.
Among them, August 29 and September 2 are forecast to be the two peak days, with about 135,000 passengers/day.
To ensure smooth traffic, the Ports closely coordinate with relevant units to scientifically regulate vehicle flows approaching the station, flexibly adjust to suit the actual situation and clearly arrange parking areas.
Inside the terminal, the Ports maximize the capacity of check-in counters, aircraft exits, luggage conveyor belts and increase personnel to directly support at points at risk of congestion.
The biometric system is also prioritized for smooth operation with technical departments on duty regularly. Risky weather response plans, UAV detection and risks affecting flight operations are reviewed and coordinated for timely handling.
To make the journey through Noi Bai International Airport and Tan Son Nhat Airport convenient and fast, the Airport encourages passengers to actively check-in online via the web, mobile applications, use VNeID identification accounts or kiosk check-in, biometric kiosks at the terminal to save time queuing at traditional counters;
Carefully check air travel documents, regulations on luggage, prohibited items, and restrictions on boarding;
Proactively calculate travel time, be present 2 hours before departure time for domestic flights and 3 hours for international flights to complete aviation, security, and customs procedures in the most complete way;
Comply with the system of signs and directions, coordinate with functional forces to regulate traffic at the station to ensure the fastest and most regulated access.
