On December 29, the People's Procuracy of Region 1 (Quang Tri) said that it is coordinating with the Provincial Police Investigation Agency to clarify the act of organizing the illegal use of drugs.
Previously, in the afternoon of December 27, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Tri Provincial Police conducted an inspection of a house on Han Thuyen street, Dong Thuan ward, owned by Nguyen Van Tri (born 1982). On the 3rd floor, functional forces discovered Nguyen Nhat Truong (born 2008), Nguyen Khanh Toan (born 2005) residing in Bac Trach commune; Nguyen Thi Tra My (born 2002, residing in Tan Gianh commune); Tran Thu Huong (born 2000, residing in Ky Van commune, Ha Tinh province) for organizing the illegal use of drugs.
Immediately upon discovering the incident, the Investigation Police Agency coordinated with the People's Procuracy of Region 1 to investigate and clarify the criminal acts, conduct an emergency search and seize exhibits related to drug use to serve the investigation.
During the inspection, Tran Thi Hong Hoa (born in 1996, residing in TDP 2 Dong Phu, Dong Hoi ward), Tri's friend, was present inside the house but did not cooperate, ran up to the 3rd floor room to inform the drug-using group to escape, and at the same time collected some tools to hide the violation.
Initial investigation determined that on the morning of December 27, 2025, Truong and Toan contributed money to buy drugs, contacted Tri to rent a house to organize use, and at the same time bought Ketamine and ecstasy from Tri with a total amount of 6 million VND. After being provided with location, drugs and tools to use, Truong invited Tra My and Huong to participate in "bay ecstasy" from about 7 am to 1 pm on the same day when they were discovered and arrested.
Currently, the prosecuting agencies have issued decisions to temporarily detain the related subjects. Nguyen Van Tri is not present at the scene, showing signs of fleeing; The Investigation Police Agency of Quang Tri Provincial Police continues to call on Tri to surrender and cooperate in the investigation to enjoy the leniency of the law.
