On the afternoon of December 27, the Nghe An Provincial Labor Culture House coordinated with the Trade Union of Thanh Chuong Group Joint Stock Company to organize a training and communication education conference on drug prevention and control for more than 700 workers.
Attending the program were Mr. Trinh Van Nha - Secretary of the Party Committee of Dai Dong commune; Mr. Nguyen Duc Thu - Director of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Culture House, along with representatives of business leaders and more than 700 workers.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thu emphasized that in the process of socio-economic development, workers are the core force directly creating material wealth. However, besides job opportunities and income, workers also face many risks, including drugs, labor accidents and occupational diseases.
Drugs not only destroy human health and personality but also seriously affect family happiness, social order and safety and the quality of human resources.
From that practice, the conference was organized to raise awareness and responsibility of workers in drug prevention and control; equip knowledge and skills on occupational safety and health, preventing accidents and occupational diseases; contributing to building a safe, healthy, stable and sustainable working environment.
At the conference, workers were propagated and disseminated legal knowledge on drug prevention and control; clarified the role and responsibility of trade union organizations in this work, and at the same time mobilized workers to actively participate in drug prevention and control activities at the grassroots level.
In addition, workers are also trained in basic contents on occupational safety and health; identifying dangerous and harmful factors in production; handling possible accident situations; using safety equipment, fire and explosion prevention, electrical short circuits; practicing first aid skills for victims of electric shock and drowning.
The training session contributed to raising awareness and skills for workers, creating a peaceful production psychology. On this occasion, the Nghe An Provincial Labor Culture House presented 10 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances.
