Ho Chi Minh City - From images provided by tourists, Long Hai commune has verified and filed a record to fine a man for bringing garbage to the sea.

On June 24, the Economic Department of Long Hai commune (HCMC) and Hai Phong 1 hamlet invited Mr. T.T. S (resident of Hai Phong 1 hamlet) to work on the act of dumping waste into the sea.

Previously, on June 22, a tourist filmed a video recording the image of a man carrying garbage into the sea and provided it to the authorities. Through verification, the authorities determined that Mr. T.T. S was the person who committed the act of throwing garbage into the sea.

During the meeting, Mr. T.T. S admitted the violation, and said that this is the 3rd time he has thrown waste into the sea. The reason is that he has not realized that the act of throwing waste into the sea is a violation of the law.

After being explained by functional agencies, Mr. T.T. S realized his violation and committed not to re-offend. Mr. T.T. S also committed to regularly cleaning up the garbage on the beach where he lives.

On that basis, the Economic Department of Long Hai commune made an administrative violation record and transferred the file to the People's Committee of Long Hai commune to issue a decision to sanction according to regulations.

At the same time, calling on people to further raise awareness and responsibility in environmental protection through practical actions: absolutely not to discharge waste and waste into the sea, rivers, streams, canals; collect and treat waste in the right places; proactively remind, propagate or report to functional agencies when detecting acts of littering indiscriminately.
