According to Mr. Tran Quang Viet - Secretary of Trung Nghia 3 Residential Area Party Cell, Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District, the newly built house belongs to Ms. Nguyen Thi Trong and Ms. Trong's household, who are sick due to sequelae of Agent Orange, and their two daughters, although they are grown up, are also sick and cannot work on their own, and their family circumstances are very difficult.
Ms. Trong's family is a poor household in Hoa Minh ward. For many years, the mother and her three children have lived in an old, dilapidated house with leaky corrugated iron roofs and cracked walls, which are unsafe during the rainy and stormy season.
Understanding her difficult circumstances, the People's Committee of Hoa Minh Ward and other organizations have mobilized support to build a new, solid house to help Mrs. Trong and her children have a stable place to live.
The total amount of support for the construction of the house is 110 million VND, of which 80 million VND was contributed by the Hoa Minh Ward Fund for the Poor and 30 million VND was donated to the family by the Trung Nghia 3 Residential Red Cross Society.
Mr. Dinh Huu Phuc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District said that the People's Committee of the ward has mobilized resources from the people, associations, and benefactors to be able to build and repair houses for households.
"The ward is currently prioritizing construction and repair for policy households, families with poor households, and near-poor households. Up to now, 2 new houses have been started and built, striving to complete phase 1 of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the ward by April 30," said the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Minh Ward.
Previously, on February 17, the People's Committee of Da Nang City officially approved the first phase of the plan to eliminate 1,140 temporary and dilapidated houses in the city in 2025.
