On February 17, the People's Committee of Da Nang City officially approved the first phase of the plan to eliminate 1,140 temporary and dilapidated houses in the city in 2025. This plan includes the construction of new 212 houses and the repair of 928 houses, to improve living conditions for disadvantaged households.
According to the decision, districts in the city are allocated specific targets. Hai Chau District will eliminate 163 houses (24 new houses, 139 repaired houses), Thanh Khe District 188 houses (20 new houses, 169 repaired houses), Son Tra District 163 houses (29 new houses, 134 repaired houses), Ngu Hanh Son District 131 houses (34 new houses, 97 repaired houses), Lien Chieu District 228 houses (42 new houses, 186 repaired houses); Cam Le 127 houses (19 new houses, 108 repaired houses) and Hoa Vang District 140 houses (44 new houses, 96 repaired houses).
The city aims to complete new construction and repairs for eligible cases before May 1. Beneficiaries include 479 policy households, 368 poor and near-poor households, and 293 households with temporary and dilapidated houses.
Previously, at the launching ceremony of the 2025 Support Program for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city on January 21, it received active support from businesses and units with a total committed amount of up to 3 billion VND.
