HCMC - Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro is completely free on April 30 and May 1, using a chip-embedded CCCD or QR code on the application to travel.

Joining the enthusiastic atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and International Labor 1.5, Urban Railway Line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) will officially offer free tickets to all passengers during these two important holidays.

The above information has just been announced by Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1), based on the decision of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the approval of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport.

On April 30 and May 1, passengers can comfortably travel on this modern metro line without having to pay any fees through two convenient forms:

Method 1: Use a chip-embedded Citizen Identification Card to scan at the ticket gate directly.

Method 2: Use the QR code "Independent QR" created on the HCMC Metro HURC application. Passengers just need to download the application and select this function to create tickets and scan the code at the ticket gate.

HURC1 especially noted that during the free ticket period, passengers only use a chip-embedded Citizen Identification Card or the code "Independence QR" on the HCMC Metro HURC application to scan directly. Using a bank card, e-wallet or buying a QR ticket on the application will still be charged and will not be refunded.

The "Independent QR" function will officially appear on the HCMC Metro HURC application from April 30, 2025 and will automatically expire after May 1, 2025.

To ensure a safe and smooth journey, HURC1 recommends that passengers comply with regulations at the station, follow the instructions of the operator and proactively arrange a reasonable travel schedule. In particular, during peak hours, there is a large number of passengers expected.
