On the morning of July 10, the Party Committee of Phu Loi Ward, Can Tho City held a launching ceremony for the "Coffee with People and Enterprises" model, helping the government get closer to the people, increase connection, listen and accompany in solving local socio-economic problems.

According to Mr. Thai Dang Khoa - Secretary of Phu Loi Ward Party Committee, with the purpose of "Listening, understanding to accompany, share, and support businesses and people", the locality uses socialized funding sources to periodically organize the "Coffee with People and Businesses" model on Friday mornings, the second week of each month. In the first phase, the ward will evaluate the effectiveness after each meeting. If the results are positive, the frequency can increase to two sessions/month; on the contrary, if not effective, the organization will be stopped.
Mr. Khoa said that the ward also aims to gradually reduce formal meetings with people in the hall, instead of practical contact. For local officials, it is necessary to go directly to the places where the incident occurred to record the people's reflection, in order to promptly resolve the difficulties as quickly as possible.
"We encourage people to call the ward officials directly or go to the organizer to present their opinions, without having to wait for a fixed meeting," Mr. Thai Dang Khoa emphasized.
In addition to its role as a bridge, the model also aims to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles of people and businesses, while receiving comments and development ideas from the community. Thereby, creating trust and motivation for people to work, produce and do business with peace of mind.

At the first meeting, many delegates who are businessmen and retired cadres proposed that the government continue to improve, shorten the time to handle administrative procedures, and improve the quality of service for people and businesses.
Responding to this content, Mr. Tran Van Nhanh - Chairman of Phu Loi Ward People's Committee - said that administrative reform is one of the key tasks included in the document of the Ward Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term. Accordingly, the ward strives to have over 70% of administrative records resolved before the prescribed time limit at the Public Administration Service Center each year.
Currently, the ward has publicly posted 260 administrative procedures in 12 areas at the Public Administration Service Center and on the electronic information portal. The ward applies the policy: if the received documents are not required to have additional documents, the cadres must be responsible for handling them completely.
"With the documents according to regulations being processed within 5 days, if they can be processed within 3 days, the staff will proactively call to invite people to receive the results, without having to wait until the appointment date," Mr. Nhanh added.
