According to information from the Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police, in the early morning of February 13 (ie the 15th day of the first lunar month of the year of At Ty), the unit deployed many working groups to handle alcohol concentration violations on routes from the center to the suburbs and discovered many drivers violating alcohol concentration, including cases of violations nearly 3 times the maximum limit of 0.4 milligrams/liter of breath.
At 9:30 p.m. on February 12, in the Lang Street area, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, the working group of Traffic Police Team No. 2 discovered Mr. D.Q.H (born in 1991 in Quan Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi) driving a motorbike with license plate 30L2 - 393.xx showing signs of violation and signaled to stop the vehicle for inspection. Upon inspection, Mr. D.Q.H violated the level of 1.115 milligrams/liter of breath, nearly 3 times the maximum limit. The working group temporarily detained the vehicle and assisted in calling a car to take Mr. D.Q.H home safely.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Hai, Captain of Traffic Police Team No. 2 (Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police), timely detection of cases of alcohol concentration violations at very high levels helps prevent the risk of unfortunate accidents. Violators can endanger themselves and other traffic participants.
"Traffic police will continue to maintain inspections, especially during high-risk hours, to strictly handle similar cases," said Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Hai.
A representative of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police said that after more than a month of implementing Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, traffic safety violations have decreased significantly. However, many people are still not fully aware of the dangers of drinking and driving. In the coming time, the capital's traffic police will continue to strengthen inspections and strictly handle violations, contributing to ensuring traffic safety in the area.
