On the afternoon of July 23, according to the reporter group in the Northwest region, rainstorms caused a series of roads to be flooded, eroded, and seriously congested.
In Son La , Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh - Director of the Department of Transport of this province said that heavy rain had caused landslides on many roads in the area.
Flood overflowed the road surface at Km440+250 - Km440+350, National Highway 37, section through Chen village, Muong Khoa commune, Bac Yen district. Currently, the water is about 40cm above the road surface.
The authorities arranged people to block traffic at the scene, not allowing vehicles to cross the above road.
Heavy rain also caused landslides and traffic jams at Km60+120, National Highway 279D, section passing Pi Tay village, Pi Toong commune, Muong La district.
In addition, heavy rain also caused flooding on Provincial Road 101, the section passing through Quang Minh commune, Van Ho district.
In addition, rainstorms also caused rocks and soil to overflow on the road surface and cause traffic jams at Km160+620 and Km151+250, National Highway 6. Up to now, the problem has been overcome and resolved.
"Currently, the authorities have sent people to be on duty at the locations of landslides and flooding, asking people not to go back and forth to the above locations to ensure safety. Along with that, mobilize machinery to quickly fix the problem. Fix the problem to clear the road as soon as possible" - said the leader of the Department of Transport of Son La province.
In Hoa Binh , prolonged heavy rain caused rocks to fall on a single road in Hay hamlet, Dong Ruong commune, Da Bac district. At the same time, flooding in some underground areas spread across Provincial Highways.
In Lao Cai , information from Lao Cai Road Company, the unit mobilized 3 excavators, bulldozers and about 30 workers to take advantage of the cool weather to overcome the landslide at Km127 + 700 National Highway 4D, in the commune. Coc San, Lao Cai City (Lao Cai Province).
Accordingly, at the landslide site, workers cut trees and broke rocks on the slopes, and underneath excavators and bulldozers will work continuously to clear and remove soil and rocks. Currently, there is a large amount of loose rock on the slopes, so we have to use human power, instead of machinery, to clear it.
Therefore, to ensure the safety of traffic participants, the unit will urgently carry out construction, and it is expected that by 3:00 p.m. this afternoon (July 23), traffic will be temporarily opened at Km127+700 on National Highway 4D.
According to the Lao Cai Department of Transport, the Department has coordinated with the Provincial Police to direct traffic diversion and guidance to ensure safety. At the same time, mobilize machinery, equipment, and human resources to urgently overcome landslides, ensuring traffic in the fastest time.
