On June 23, the Steering Committee for Civil Defense of Lam Dong province informed about the damage caused by heavy rain and thunderstorms on the afternoon of June 22 in the eastern area of the province.
According to initial reports, heavy rain accompanied by strong thunderstorms occurred in many communes and wards in Phan Thiet and neighboring areas, causing property damage and injuring one person.

Specifically, a staff member of Ham Thang Ward People's Committee was injured due to a corrugated iron roof blown off at the headquarters, and an iron bar fell on him. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment by functional forces.
The thunderstorm also blew off the roofs of 14 houses and 2 offices at the headquarters of Ham Thang Ward People's Committee. Initial damage is estimated at about 500 million VND.
In Phu Thuy ward (Lam Dong province), ward leaders said that heavy rain and strong winds knocked down many green trees, power poles, lights and caused local power outages in some areas. In addition, some houses had their roofs blown off.

In the Phu Hai fishing port area, 2 fishing boats BTh 84608TS and BTh 89268TS sank, all crew members on the 2 fishing boats were safe. Also on the evening of June 22, fishing boat BTh 98211TS was anchored about 800m from Doi Duong beach when it was completely sunk by thunderstorms and big waves. 13 crew members were rescued by nearby fishing boats and brought ashore safely.
Currently, local authorities have mobilized forces to support people to overcome the consequences, clean up the scene and continue to statistically assess the extent of damage to have support plans according to regulations.
