Many hydropower reservoirs across the country continue to maintain water levels below the normal level, mainly operating for power generation.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 11:30 am on May 22, in the Northwest region, Son La hydropower reservoir had an upstream water level at an elevation of 198.85m, much lower than the normal water level of 215m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 598m3/s, the total discharge through the plant was 1,631m3/s.

Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir recorded a water level of 105.13m, water flow to the reservoir 2,839m3/s, total discharge through power generation 2,832m3/s.

Meanwhile, Lai Chau hydropower reservoir has a water level at an elevation of 291.2m, a flow to the reservoir of 322m3/s and a total discharge volume of 628m3/s.

In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir has a water inflow rate of 776m3/s, with a total discharge rate of 687.37m3/s.

In the North Central region, Trung Son hydropower reservoir has a water level of 157.63m, nearly reaching the normal water level of 160m. Khe Bo hydropower reservoir is operating for power generation with a total discharge volume of 165.9m3/s.

In the South Central region, Song Tranh 2 hydropower reservoir recorded a water flow to the reservoir of 63.5m3/s, with a total discharge through the plant of 160m3/s.

Song Ba Ha hydropower reservoir has a water level of 103.58m, 105m lower than the normal water level.

In the Central Highlands, many hydropower reservoirs maintain stable power generation operations such as Ialy hydropower, Se San 4 hydropower and Srepok 3 hydropower. Some reservoirs discharge through spillways with low flow.

In the Southeast region, Tri An hydropower reservoir has an upstream water level at an elevation of 57.01m, the water inflow to the reservoir reaches 340m3/s and the total discharge is 596m3/s.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 22, the Northern Delta and Southern Phu Tho regions will be hot with the highest temperature commonly 35 - 36 degrees C, with some places above 36 degrees C.

The area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang city and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will be hot, with intense heat in some places with the highest temperature commonly 35 - 37 degrees C, in some places above 37 degrees C.

The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places; especially in the late afternoon tomorrow, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
