Most hydropower reservoirs across the country are still lower than the normal water level, the reservoirs mainly generate electricity and regulate through power plants, and widespread flood discharge has not appeared.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 2:30 PM on April 28, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake reached a water level of 110.3m, nearly 10m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the lake reached 79 m3/s, the total discharge through the plant was 263.31 m3/s.

In the Northwest region, the water level of large reservoirs such as Son La reached 206.41m, Hoa Binh 109.41m, Lai Chau 291.17m, Ban Chat 432.6m and Huoi Quang 369.71m - all lower than the normal water level. In which, Son La reservoir discharged 399 m3/s and Hoa Binh reservoir discharged 513 m3/s through the plant to generate electricity; the remaining reservoirs do not need to regulate discharge.

The North Central region recorded Trung Son Lake at 155.53m, Ban Ve Lake 185.44m, Khe Bo Lake 64.51m and Quang Tri Lake 471.5m, all below the normal water level. Trung Son Lake discharged 84 m3/s and Khe Bo discharged 169.7 m3/s through the plant.

In the South Central Coast, the water level of A Vuong reservoirs is 368.6m, Song Bung 4 reaches 216.36m, Vinh Son A reaches 770.6m, Song Hinh reaches 206.14m; most are still lower than the normal water level and only generate electricity sparingly.

In the Central Highlands region, many reservoirs have water levels such as Pleikrông 560.18m, Ialy 502.28m, Sê San 3 reaching 303.87m, Sê San 4 reaching 213.16m; An Khê reservoir reaching 428.48m and discharging 8 m3/s, opening 1 surface discharge gate.

In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir reached a water level of 58.34m, 62m lower than the normal water level, and has not yet had to regulate water discharge.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on April 28, the Northern region will be sunny during the day, especially the Northwest region will have localized hot sun.
