According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 12:30 pm on April 27, Tuyen Quang Lake recorded an upstream water level of 110.69 m, lower than the normal water level by 120 m.
Water flow to the reservoir is 158 m3/s, total discharge is 342.66 m3/s, all through the plant, no overflow discharge.
In the Northwest area, Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 291.48 m (295 m lower than the normal water level), flow rate of 109 m3/s, no discharge. Ban Chat Lake is at 432.41 m, flow rate of 43 m3/s, no discharge has occurred.
Huo Huoi Quang Lake has a water level of 369.84 m, close to the normal water level of 370 m; flow rate of 15 m3/s, total discharge of 180 m3/s through the power plant.
Son La Lake is at an altitude of 206.83 m, lower than the normal water level by 215 m; flow rate of 134 m3/s, total discharge rate of 1.105 m3/s through the plant.
Hoa Binh Lake is at an altitude of 109.34 m, lower than the normal water level by 117 m; water flow to the lake is 811 m3/s, total discharge is 377 m3/s, all through power generation.
Thac Ba Lake has a water level of 51.45 m, 58 m lower than the normal water level; flow rate of 63 m3/s, currently not discharging water.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on April 27, the Northern region will be cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, locally heavy rain (especially in the Northwest region, rain will concentrate in the late afternoon and night). In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
